You never know when (or if) you’ll ever get into a situation that puts your life in danger. As human beings, we are all susceptible to to the unexpected dangers that life can sometimes bring. Nobody is immune to these dangers, which is why we should all be prepared for situations in life that may require quick thinking or a speedy solution.
Have you ever wondered what to do if you fell through ice, or possibly got stuck in a rip tide? Unexpected emergencies require fast responses, and in those kinds of situations one should always be prepared.
Here are 7 tips that may save your life one day.
1. If you ever fall through ice, your body will have a total of ten minutes until your muscles give up. If this ever happens to you, the first thing you must do is make sure you don’t panic.
Secondly, do not remove any of your clothes. The air in your clothes will keep you afloat. Next, try to climb out of the water the exact same way you went in.
Place your arms directly out onto the hard ice. Stretch out your torso and put your weight on your elbows and the palms of your hands.
Once you have lifted yourself out of the water, lie spreadeagled over the ice so that your weight is distributed evenly. Next, crawl or even roll towards the shore and off of the ice. Go to a warm place immediately.
